these are few of my favorite things

it's really great when you live with a cousin who loves reading as much as you do. what's even greater is living with a cousin who loves reading as much as you do and has rich parents. when we were growing up, we both read the same sweet valley kids, twins, high, and senior year books, as well as sweet dreams and love stories. we then moved on to chick lits and gossip girl. but as we grew older, we both developed our own book preferences. i didn't have a choice before, as i was highly dependent on the books that she usually bought because i couldn't afford to buy books. i find it hard to believe myself sometimes that for someone who loves to read, i am really kuripot when it comes to buying books. anyway, lately she has been reading  a lot of haruki murakami books. i have a huge reading backlog (which includes my new anatomy book and the pharma book that i am planning to buy), but i decided to give murakami a try because i shari seemed to like his works so much. the book i read was after dark. i found it weird. it took me ages to finish the short book with the sweet valley twins font (haha) because i had to read a few paragraphs again and again. call me blond or whatever but i didn't understand it the story that much. i stuck it out till the end because i thought that i needed something a bit more challenging, having just finished two chick lits, namely love rosie and ps i love you, both by cecelia ahern. now i am trying to read another murakami book, which is south of the border and west of the sun. my cousin says i shouldn't have read after dark as an introduction to the murakami books and i should have started with the book that i am reading now, to be able to appreciate the author easier. i have just finished the 1st chapter this morning, and so far so good i haven't been confused yet. hehe.

my tita took me and my cousin to bonifacio high street earlier this afternoon to see if there's anything we liked at crocs, but we wrinkled our nose at the ugly slippers and headed off a few doors back to the havaianas store and ended up buying something there. i do own a pair of crocs, but those are just cheap knock offs that i bought from sm, and i only wear them inside the OR because although those things are ugly, they are way comfy-ier (hehe) than regular slippers. of course a trip to that outdoor mall is not complete without passing by the fully booked flagship store. i was disappointed however when i got inside because there wasn't a chuck palahniuk book in stock. my cousin didn't want me to leave the store without buying something (besides her mom is paying hehe), but i refused to buy anything other than a palahniuk book. i wanted to buy a place called here by cecelia ahern so i could complete all of her books, or a jane green book, but i decided against it at the last minute because like what i have said before, i wanted to read something more challenging. besides, i do have a huge reading backlog. it's funny because even if the fully booked store had five floors, i bet powerbooks alabang had more chuck books than them. haha. maybe i'm just bitter because i failed to score a free book from my tita. haha.

but inspite of the said backlog, i would still like to start building up my chuck palahniuk collection. i wish i had the money to do so.

the second sem officially starts on thursday. waaaah. still not ready.

what goes around, comes around

what comes up must come down.

hala lagot. it's been a week of new stuff for me, so needless to say it has been a nice week. as you all know, it has been my sembreak for the past two weeks and even if i didn't have any classes, i was still given my allowance for the week. i didn't lie or anything, i told my tita that i was on my sembreak but she still insisted on giving me my usual weekly allowance. and that is why i was able to buy lots of new stuff this week. hehe.

anyway, since this has been a nice week, payback's going to be a bitch this coming week. i can feel it now. the last time i had a few great days in a row, i had a stomach thing the following week which caused me to lose my appetite and throw up everything that i eat. and this happened during the final exams week too.

school technically starts on thursday, but we have to be there on tuesday for the rle orientation. i wasn't able to complete everything on my sembreak to do list, but i did get to finish about four books. yay me. i can't believe i will finally be finished with school in about 6 months. ang bilis! hehe

i was reading harry potter and the deathly hallows (again) last night, and i suddenly remembered that news wherein jk rowling "outed" dumbledore's character. well he is the greatest wizard ever lived, and he can be gay if he wants to. hehe. maybe that's why he and grindelwald had that duel...it's not to vanquish a dark wizard, it's a lover's quarrel! hehe

testing..

just trying out the cross posting thing that i learned from chevy. hehe. it does make things a whole lot easier. however, i know i gotta be a bit more careful too when naming names in my blog entries because my multiply is a bit more public than my two other blogs.

anyway, we had our grad pics taken today. it was a good move too, as there are approximately 500 graduating students in our batch as of the moment and we decided to have our picture taken when our other batchmates are too lazy to stay after the orientation to have their pictures taken. hair and makeup takes approximately 15 minutes. i had to wear a tube top for the picture, and angel had to secure the velcro closure with two large safety pins because the said top is too small for me. if i move even an inch or breathe, the tube top is just going to pop open and i would end up flashing everyone. i had to remove my bra because it would make closing the tube top even more difficult. i didn't like what the hair and makeup person did to my hair. it was too flat. but my makeup was nice, even if the foundation is a bit too makapal for my taste. rochelle even said that my eyeshadow looked like i put it on myself. my only other pet peeve is that i still have braces. i would be having them removed on the 29th. sayang! but i have been wearing them for the most part of my college education (8 friggin years grabe) so maybe it's only proper that i still have them in my grad pic.

ang lande. hehe. i took this pic after i went home, after my hair was messed up a bit on the trike ride. and those aren't ipis or spider legs, those are my lashes. the bading was a bit too generous with mascara and the brown eyeliner emphasized my lashes even more. i'm not complaining though, i am just sorry that my eyeshadow was not shown in this picture. but i like this picture more than i do the official one taken in school. blech.

all good things must indeed come to an end. we already have lecture on thursday. but the good news is, duty starts next monday so tomorrow is a free day. yay.

November 23rd, 2007

i just got home like an hour ago, and i'm really tired. i was falling asleep in the car but i just had to go online before i finally crash in my bed. it is because my friends and i just watched the movie enchanted this afternoon, and i just had to download the soundtrack.

i love love love the movie. kahit sobrang obvious na pang kids siya. typical na disney movie, sobrang daming cliches, parang kumuha ng mga ideas from the different disney princess fairy tales tapos pinagsamasama silang lahat sa movie na to. i don't care. i love it. mukhang nacornyhan nga yung iba kong mga kasama, although hindi ko sila masisi..medyo may edad na yung mga yun tapos yung isa lalaki pa. haha. lalo na nung start nung movie, kasi cartoons muna bago sila pinapunta sa new york. hehe. and ang cute cute ni amy adams! parang princess-y talaga ng dating niya, kaya nung hindi na siya naka princess dresses tapos nung hindi na kulot yung hair niya, hindi na siya masyado maganda. hehe. talagang pati yung mga movements niya at paano niya dineliver yung lines niya, parang nasa cartoons pa rin.

so ayun, napadownload spree ako tuloy ng di oras. salamat sa mga mabubuting tao, namely krishna, tonti, and joel. hulog kayo ng langit! i lab yu guys! hehe

reaaaaaaaally long weekend

hay.i seem to start most of my entries with a  "hay" nowadays huh? anyway, it's been an extra long weekend for me. i had an 8 am class last thursday but it was cancelled because one of our classmates did a text brigade and said that the flood in front of school was knee deep so instead of wasting our time trying to go to class and getting stuck in traffic plus getting soaked to boot in the process, we just stayed home. well half of the class anyway.

and then today i got so bored that around 4 pm i decided to go to ruins and look for dvds. i ended up buying seasons 1&2 of lost. yeah i know it's old but i haven't seen an episode of the series so what the heck.

my hair i now past my bra line. i think this is the longest length i have ever grown my hair into, not even in the two years i had my it rebonded. i desperately need a trim, as i have been hurting myself during the rare times that i actually run a comb through my hair. but i love it that it's this long, and it's weird, but my hair actually looks better when i don't comb it the whole day. plus he likes playing with my hair especially when it's not in its usual ponytail. lande! hehe i would get a haircut soon, maybe after the braces come off. hehe walang connection.

oh well gotta go watch lost now
